I've got a clean and simple card today, yes you heard right :D. I know my cards are usually very girly and covered in glitter but I wanted to make Stuart, my hubby, a Valentines card and I didn't think he would appreciate lots of frills and pearls. I've used a stamp set from Lawn Fawn called 'Love you a Latté '. Stuart walks into town most days and often stops for a coffee at his favourite coffee shop so I thought these would be the ideal stamps for his card. Here it is....
I was a little naughty and snuck some glitter on the coffee cup labels with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen :D. There's Glossy Accents on the lids too.

Elbow in concert were absolutely brilliant!! I had a fantastic time. They sound just as good live as they do on their CDs, even the supporting band, C Duncan, were good. The Spa in my home town, where the gig was, is not the size of place they usually play in it was their kind of a trial run before going on to bigger venues. I was on the balcony in my powerchair and was let in first with other wheelchair users so we, Stuart and my youngest son Kieran, got a really good place to see them from. I would highly recommend seeing them.
I'll finish here now but will be back on Friday with the winner of my Candy Giveaway. See you soon.

I just love coffee cards and yours is perfect with this two cups! great idea.
ReplyDeleteAWE! Debra, this is absolutely DELIGHTFUL and I just KNOW your hubby will love it!! :) This is such a fun set with the faces and you've done a brilliant job putting it together on your design!! I do love CAS style cards, so thanks for sharing this!! Hugs & Smiles - *Vicki*
ReplyDeleteOh, this is just adorable!!! I think CAS cards are the most difficult to do (for me surely!!LOL), but you have made a fabulous work with this! Not too much frilly and not too much simple: the perfection! :) I'm sure that your hubby will love it and will smile very much for the punny sentiment and these cute faces! The bit of shining and glossy is very appropriate :) and gives more dimension to the cups. Really beautiful choice of papers, too!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you have spent some time enjoying the concert, good music is always a gift for the soul. I don't know that singer and his band, I will search on youtube to hear them.
What a gorgeous valentine card for a male! They're tricky aren't they! Love the whole fun quirky design!
ReplyDeleteAnd that's wonderful that you had such a fab time!

Such a lovely card Debra, south ds perfect for Hubby. I think I have the latte stamp set somewhere...oops!! I am so pleased that you had a good time at the Elbow concert. It's been quite a while since I have seen a band live, there is nothing quite like it xx
ReplyDeleteHi Debra, I just bought this Lawn Fawn set and I LOVE what you did with it. Such a sweet Valentine. I bet your husband loved it, too!
ReplyDeleteHi Debra, a great card for Stuart and his coffee obsession, you have made a wonderful Clean and simple card, one that I still haven't mastered, I like tinkering with them to much.... have a marvellous week.... Megan
ReplyDeleteHi Debra.. This is smashing, our menfolk can be so difficult to make cards for, but this fits the bill so well. My hubby is also very partial to a latte (apparently it has to be Costa!) Would sooner have a nice cup of tea myself!
